Easy Data Entry
Envista users range from large utility companies, highway and transportation agencies, to municipalities of every size. Our goal is to provide easy and quick methods for each user to add construction and maintenance projects to Envista.
Spreadsheet ImportMany organizations routinely use spreadsheets to manage project information. Envista provides a spreadsheet template which users can download to cut-and-paste data into or to directly input project information. The project spreadsheet is then uploaded into Envista, which automatically reads the spreadsheet. Users can export the same spreadsheet format out of Envista to update their records or to edit project information. It’s a convenient and familiar way to input project data.
Manual EntryUsers can directly input or edit project information through a form in Envista. Project information such as project name, start and end dates, contacts, etc. are typed into the form. The project location can be entered by one of two ways. Users can type the address of the project start and end points. Envista automatically geo-codes the location and displays the project on the map. Alternatively, the user can simply pick points on the map, and Envista automatically enters the address in the form.
Data ServicesAs an additional service, users can call-in to have Envista staff input or edit their project data. This can be very convenient for users who are in the field or who have updates to project status. The data that is input this way is flagged in Envista as call-in data.
GIS and Work-Order Management InterfaceProject data can be imported from both GIS and work-order management systems. GIS .shp files or geodatabase project information in either text or geographic coordinates can uploaded into Envista. Similarly, data from systems such as IBM Maximo or Primavera can be uploaded and geo-coded in Envista. Envista is developing web-services to connect over the internet to ESRI ArcGIS, work-order, and scheduling systems to provide real-time synchronization of data.
